STEEL ALIVE TUNES INTO DUB’S RAW POWER ON NXT GEN WAKE-UP CALL

Lyon-based band Steel Alive operate at full volume. Their freshly minted single NxT GeN, out now on their Bass Cookers label, is the first in a series of releases building towards a full album this October. It announces itself with a bassline so deep it could rattle the floorboards.

The band’s striking single opens a bold chapter, and it arrives with a warning we’d do well to heed. NxT GeN marks a decisive new direction for Steel Alive duo Maxime Drouet and Lucas Boccadifuoco.

Drouet’s accordion coils around Boccadifuoco’s guitar as the track inhabits the space they call Future Dub. It fuses the murky, reverb-soaked depth of classic dub with sharp, contemporary production.

RELENTLESS FORWARD MOMENTUM THAT GRIPS FROM THE FIRST BAR

A powerful bassline drives the rhythm and builds an intense atmosphere. The core message lands as a direct wake-up call about the world we are leaving to future generations.

The band weaves that argument through every element: the samples, the textures, the relentless forward momentum that grips the track from the first bar to the last.

Steel Alive further sharpens the point with the accompanying music video, deploying raw, arresting imagery that warns of the overproduction driven by our way of life. It matches the track’s ambition at every turn.

The track carries the signature energy of Steel Alive’s celebrated work with vocalist Luiza, delivered here with a fresh sense of purpose and direction. NxT GeN makes clear the journey will be worth every step.
