KING JAMMY BACKS BREAKOUT TALENT AZA LINEAGE FOR VINYL-FIRST DEBUT REBEL DAAWTA
Kingston 7 has birthed a formidable vanguard. Aza Lineage, an uncompromising sound system graduate, has dropped Rebel Daawta. This seminal debut, out via VP Records’ Dub Rockers imprint, delivers a seismic statement for modern reggae.
Reggae and dancehall legend King Jammy oversees this sonic feast from his Waterhouse studio base. The physical ten-track vinyl edition cuts straight to the chase, while the extended seventeen-track digital release stretches its wings.
It is an extraordinary offering. The rising contemporary roots artist honours Jamaica’s rich musical history, channelling raw dancehall energy with sharp and effortless grace.
PULL UP, YA BAD!
Her journey to Jammy’s studio is already local lore. She auditioned near the gates under a mango tree, singing her signature tune, Sound System. Jammy stopped her mid-verse.
“Yeah man, pull up. Ya bad!” he shouted. Within thirty minutes, they were recording. That sudden, magical spark ignited this entire project.

Lineage has sharpened her flow in live sessions since 2016. That rigorous background shines through every single track. On the rootical stepper Rule The Sound and the cool, deadly Chikiwawawoi, her vocal range commands absolute attention. She effortlessly bridges musical eras.
This brilliant set boasts stellar guest spots from dancehall godfather Johnny Osbourne, reggae revivalist Jesse Royal, and singer-songwriter and producer Brandon Rootz. From the smokers’ anthem One Draw to heavyweight rub-a-dub scorchers, her lyrical dexterity is completely unmatched.
Rebel Daawta is a confident, vibrant manifesto from a rising queen.
