FADE AWAY: ALEIGHCIA SCOTT’S STRIKING RETURN TO LOVERS ROCK
Under the soft glow of studio lights, Aleighcia Scott closes her eyes, letting the rhythm carry her. The Cardiff-born reggae star has a rare talent for blending soul, strength and story in her sound. Fade Away, released via Recordiau Côsh Records, captures that balance perfectly. Produced by Dubtanian with vivid visuals by Yasnaps, it breathes new life into lovers rock while keeping its heart intact.
A soulful reflection on resilience in love, Fade Away moves between tenderness and conviction. “For this track, I really wanted to have an old school lovers rock sound with a new school sound,” Aleighcia explained.
“Combining the two whilst keeping the authentic roots as the foundation.” Her voice brings that vision to life, steeped in tradition yet tuned to now.
REGGAE MUSIC IS VERY MUCH ALIVE AND KICKING
The release crowns a standout year for Scott. Her Welsh-language single Dod o’r Galon became the first of its kind to reach No.1 on the iTunes Reggae Chart. She toured with Lila Iké, represented Wales at the Women’s Euros in Switzerland, and opened the Stuttgart Festival of Cultures.

Next year, she returns as the reigning champion coach on Y Llais (The Voice, Wales), mentoring new artists and helping build national pride through language and sound. Between her weekly BBC Radio Wales show and guest spots for David Rodigan on BBC 1Xtra, Aleighcia continues to shape the future of reggae from a uniquely Welsh perspective.
As she puts it, “Reggae music is very much alive and kicking,” and Fade Away is proof.
