Thirty years ago, a devastating highway accident stopped reggae veteran Causion in his tracks. Watching paramedics fight for a stranger’s life, he turned to a friend with a quiet realisation: we never know what tomorrow holds. Before that tour wrapped, he wrote One Life to Live. The track first emerged in 2005, yet its crucial message has refused to fade.
That existential thread pulled tighter years later. When Antigua and Barbuda’s Reggae Ambassador faced stage 3 colon cancer, that early reflection on life’s uncertainty became a deeply personal testament to resilience, faith and gratitude.
Now, Causion reclaims his pivotal work with a revived 2026 production and an extraordinary home-soil video. Teaming up with producer Maurice Gregory, he breathes fresh air into the riddim.
HONEST, ROOTSY AND BEAUTIFULLY UNPRETENTIOUS
Director Jeron Bailey takes the camera straight into English Harbour, cutting out artificial polish. Local elders, market vendors, and childhood friends gather naturally, grounding the track in pure community warmth.
The visual catches true community rhythm. “It was about the building,” Causion reflects, pointing to his roots. “That’s where I spent so much time growing up.”

Antigua and Barbuda’s Reggae Ambassador, Gregory “Causion” Bailey, fuses conscious roots vibrations with Caribbean melodies. Over three decades, the pioneering singer-songwriter made history as the first Antiguan artist at Jamaica’s Reggae Sumfest.
He toured globally with legends like Dennis Brown and Rita Marley. In 2024, he was named Commander of the Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage.
