JIMMY OCTOBER BRIDGES DISTANCE AND DESIRE ON ‘TIME’
Trinidad & Tobago’s Jimmy October steps forward with Time, a vibrant single that fuses soca, calypso, dancehall, reggae and afrobeats. Produced by Brooklyn Decent, who has worked with Kes and Shenseea, and Jelani “Pops” Shaw, the track blends rhythm and melody effortlessly. Jimmy co-wrote it with Pops and Nicolai Ramjass, creating a story of connection and longing.
The lyrics capture intimacy over distance. He invites a lover to “pick up di phone and call meh when yuh feeling lonely” and promises presence and attention, flipping the ordinary act of messaging into something tactile and urgent.
The chorus, “Say you’re coming, say you love me, I’ll make time for you,” anchors the song in heartfelt devotion.
OCTOBER FLIPS THE ORDINARY ACT OF MESSAGING INTO SOMETHING TACTILE AND URGENT
Jimmy October’s momentum is undeniable. In 2024, he released his EP From October With Love, featuring Mical Teja and Coutain. The year before, he toured the US twice, opening for Ruger and Kes, while gaining recognition via Fader Watch.
With Time, October pushes forward, blending influences into something uniquely his own, demonstrating that even in a crowded landscape, his voice demands attention.
