SAILOR JANE REIMAGINES SADE WITH A VINYL THAT SPEAKS SOUL

Florida-born Sailor Jane has been shaping her craft in Jamaica, and it shows on her evocative 7-inch take of Sade’s classic, Cherish the Day. The A side glides under the expert touch of Gregory Morris, whose mixing brings a warm, spacious clarity to Jane’s voice and the live instrumentation. Lamont Savory’s guitar, Adrian “Jerks” Henry’s bass, and Brady Robinson’s drums create a subtle, hypnotic groove that feels intimate yet expansive.

Flip the record and Jallanzo The Dub Wizzard transforms the track Cherish the Dub into a spellbinding experience. Layers of echo and reverb stretch the song into a meditative space, inviting listeners to lose themselves in every detail.

The release is presented in a crisp 7-inch format, featuring a picture sleeve crafted by Madein876 Productions/Streets of Jamaica and formatted by Classic Blends, making it as much a visual statement as a sonic one.

SAILOR JANE TURNS SADE’S CHERISH THE DAY INTO REGGAE GOLD

This track comes from Sailor Jane’s album of Sade interpretations, No Ordinary Dub, an homage that balances reverence with reinvention. Each cover brings out textures in the originals that feel freshly alive, bridging classic sophistication with modern dub sensibilities.

Whether you’re spinning it at home or in a quiet room with headphones, the record showcases Jane’s ability to inhabit a song fully while leaving room for the magic of her collaborators to shine.

Sailor Jane’s Cherish the Day 7-inch is a must-hear for collectors and dub enthusiasts alike.
