YOUNG KULCHA HONOURS THE SPIRIT OF ROOTS ON ‘SWEET REGGAE MUSIC’

Young Kulcha steps into the spotlight with Sweet Reggae Music, a radiant tribute to the genre’s global resonance. Backed by French powerhouse band The Ligerians and produced by Irie Ites, the single captures reggae as both a spiritual guide and a cultural anchor. Out via Irie Ites Records and Evidence Music, it sets the tone for the forthcoming Hell A Go Pop Riddim.

The Ligerians built the track on a steady one-drop foundation, mixed by Spanish maestro Roberto Sánchez. Tribuman’s horns lift the rhythm with a warmth that nods to Studio One without resorting to nostalgia.

Kulcha rides the groove with poise, his melodic phrasing and uncluttered lyrics embodying reggae’s message of unity and truth. When he sings, “Sweet reggae music, play it all day,” it resonates less like a chorus and more like a spiritual affirmation.

SWEET REGGAE MUSIC, PLAY IT ALL DAY

Behind the mix, Jérémie Nonorgue shapes the vocals, while Manuel Malhoeuvre and Jérôme Baccar guide the production. The credits underscore Europe’s growing role in sustaining the roots tradition, blending authenticity with fresh energy.

The video, premiered on Irie Ites Reggae TV, leans into earthy colours and vintage textures, evoking a communal vibe rooted in resistance and joy. Together, song and visuals remind listeners of reggae’s enduring power: to uplift, to unite and to carry truth across borders.
