ZAMUNDA BRINGS REGGAE FLAVOUR TO “ENERGY”

Roots singer Zamunda is infusing reggae vibes into the world of pop with his single, “Energy.” This track breathes new life into Chris Brown’s ballad, “Angel Numbers (Ten Toes),” and is sure to get your head nodding.

The collaboration between Zamunda and Natures Way Entertainment, co-produced with Sweet Waters Spawn Production, brings a fresh twist to Brown’s song, originally featured on his album “11:11.” This isn’t their first time working together though.

Garfield Cowan, head of Natures Way Entertainment, shared that Zamunda’s idea sparked this reggae makeover. Interestingly, their partnership goes way back. Twelve years ago, Zamunda recorded “One of These Days” for the label’s debut project, the “Hope Riddim” compilation album.

“Energy” marks Zamunda’s first release with Natures Way since Cowan became his manager earlier this year.

This talented artist is no stranger to the reggae scene. His sophomore album, “Jah Love Surround Me,” dropped in early 2023, showcasing his Rastafarian roots.

Currently, Zamunda is taking his music to Europe. During his extended stay, fans can expect him to perform in Austria, Finland, and Germany. This is his second European adventure, and he’s excited to promote his album and connect with new audiences.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to tour, meet new people, and connect with the fans on a deeper level,” Zamunda shared. “Spreading my message of peace, rights, and justice is what it’s all about.“

“Energy” follows Zamunda’s exploration of ballads, building on tracks like “Save Some For Me” from “Jah Love Surround Me” and his collaboration with Macka Diamond on a reggae cover of the Sonny and Cher classic, “I Got You Babe.”

Jamaican singer Zamunda blends traditional reggae with contemporary R&B. Born Christopher Gayle in 1985 in Seville Heights, St. Ann, he wrote his first song at seven. Overcoming a stutter by singing, he adopted his stage name from the film Coming to America.

Initially a deejay, Zamunda switched to singing in his late teens. His 2010 hit collaboration with I-Octane, “Badder than Dem,” gained attention. He broke out internationally in 2021 with a remixed version of “Jah Love Surround Me,” featuring Popcaan.

Zamunda’s rich baritone and positive message of love and justice resonate with listeners, solidifying his place in music.
