SLY & ROBBIE SKA-DANCEHALL FUSION SONG “FREEDOM” SAMPLES ADDIS ABABA 1964 HIT

This new track called “FREEDOM” combines ska and dancehall music. It uses a sample from the Skatalites hit “Addis Ababa” released by Studio One in 1964.

The track also includes excellent harmonica parts played by ska legend Charlie Organaire and a vibraphone solo by the equally legendary Robbie Lyn. Cherine Anderson provides the vocals.

Sly, the track’s creator, is proud to have pushed the boundaries of Jamaican music once again. It’s been a long time since there has been a ska-meets-dancehall track, and Sly is excited to bring it back.

“FREEDOM” is the first single from Sly’s upcoming album. He plans to showcase Jamaica’s culture by combining old-school sounds with modern dancehall beats.
