A foundation reggae DJ and producer, Ranking Joe, launched his career in the mid-70s, guided by legendary producer Coxsone Dodd. His trademark rapid-fire toasting and tongue-twisting wordplay set him apart from the start.
From sound system stages to studio sessions with Dennis Brown, Black Uhuru, and King Tubby, he has shaped reggae’s sound across five decades. His influence echoes in artists like Beenie Man and Papa San.
