RUNNING: GUS WALKER RELEASES DUB-DRIVEN SPRING GROOVE
Dutch artist Gus Walker returns with Running, a fast-paced, reggae and dub-driven track built on live energy that makes you think while it makes you move. There’s a moment, early in the freshly minted track, when the horns kick in, and everything clicks. The groove locks in, while the rap-style vocals surge forward. You stop whatever you’re doing and move.
Walker built the track from a jam session. He, his bassist, and his drummer fell into a rhythm that refused to quit, and the song grew outward from there. Live percussion and a glowing horn section, featuring trumpet, trombone and saxophone, along with Walker’s urgent vocal delivery, give Running its natural momentum.
It feels both urgent and uplifting; made to move through spring days and sunlit playlists.
WHEN THE HORNS KICK IN, EVERYTHING CLICKS
“We locked into this groove that just kept pushing forward,” Walker says. The song explores the paths we fall into without noticing: systems and routines that feel fixed, even though we helped shape them ourselves. He describes feeling tension in that idea, but also a kind of acceptance. The song lives in that space.

It’s a big idea, but Running carries it without strain. The track never stands still long enough to lecture. This is reggae and dub music that actually thinks.
The release pairs with Rainfall Dub, a B-side that strips things back to bass, space and atmosphere. Together, the two tracks close out a strong run of 2025 singles and capture the full reach of Walker’s evolving sound. It marks a bold full stop to the body of work.
