THE ART OF ACCEPTANCE: WHY PROTOJE’S 7th ALBUM IS HIS MOST FEARLESS YET
Two-time Grammy nominee Protoje is back, announcing his seventh studio album, The Art Of Acceptance, via In.Digg.Nation Collective and Ineffable Records. It follows the acclaimed Third Time’s The Charm (2022) and marks his first full project with producer Winta James since A Matter of Time.
This time, Protoje goes deep. He describes The Art Of Acceptance as a spiritual reckoning and a creative rebirth. “It’s about the raw, sometimes painful work of facing yourself fully, embracing the parts you might want to hide, and then radiating from that wholeness.”
Three singles have already rolled out, including At We Feet featuring Damian Marley, BIG 45, and Feel It. Each one threads through tradition while evolving their sound.
EVERY FEATURE ON THIS ALBUM IS A DREAM COLLABORATION
Features include a powerful convergence of voices from Jamaica’s own Shenseea, Masicka, Jesse Royal, Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and Stephen Marley, as well as the US Virgin Islands’ Pressure Busspipe. It’s a gathering that feels inspired.
“Every feature on this album is a dream collaboration,” says Protoje, “and having them all come together feels like divine timing.”
His longtime collaborative producer, Winta James, frames the project well, saying, “It’s an amalgamation of the sounds that inspired us over the years; from updated acoustic traditional reggae to the digital reggae revolution of the late ’80s and early ’90s, with a sprinkling of hip-hop-inspired grooves.”
Catch Protoje live on tour across Jamaica, Europe, the UK and North America. This is Protoje at his most open and his most powerful.
