ABOUT ELEPHANT MAN
DJ Elephant Man (aka Energy God) was born in 1974 in Seaview Gardens, Kingston, Jamaica. He got his early exposure to dancehall culture by singing at the gates of famous studios. His career took off when he formed a group with other Seaview teens, initially called the Seaview Family but later changed to Scare Dem Crew. The group only released one album but played multiple festivals around Jamaica, giving Elephant Man a chance to refine his on-stage persona. His energetic performance at 1998’s Reggae Sumfest was a career highlight.
Elephant Man left the group, and Solo released his debut album, Comin’ 4 You, in 2000. His hit single “Pon di River, Pon di Bank” gained popularity, and he released his major-label debut, Good 2 Go, in 2003. His 2011 album, Dance & Sweep! Adventures of the Energy God was released under his original label.
