OH MY: BUJU BANTON, PROTOJE, COCOA SARAI & WONDAGURL UNITE ON SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS SINGLE

Jamaican reggae mainstays Buju Banton and Protoje have joined forces with Grammy and Emmy-winning singer-songwriter Cocoa Sarai and multi-platinum producer WondaGurl on Oh My. Released on World Mental Health Day in partnership with Caribbean label Monk Music Group, the track serves as a socially conscious anthem aimed at promoting unity, mental well-being, and environmental awareness.

The collaboration marks the second release from Conscious Planet, a compilation EP executive produced by WondaGurl under the Conscious Music Circle banner. Built around intersecting social issues, the project pairs high-profile production with direct activism.

Opening with Buju Banton’s declaration that the track is “a cry to humanity,” the arrangement draws directly on reggae’s history of addressing systemic challenges. Cocoa Sarai delivers Brooklyn-rooted vocals over the refrain, “Elevate the mind before the body gone.”

Building on this foundation, Protoje weaves conscious, philosophical verses that reinforce the track’s core mission of mental wellness and environmental preservation.

ELEVATE THE MIND BEFORE THE BODY GONE

Production from WondaGurl, LosHendrix, and Nami Ondas sets live horns, flute, and percussion alongside backing vocal contributions from Lila Iké.

The single supports the #SaveSoil movement, a global initiative launched by Sadhguru in 2022 to combat soil degradation. By building public awareness, the movement seeks to drive global policy changes while linking environmental restoration to collective care and mental health.

Following the compilation’s initial March single Ancient Seed, Oh My brings together Banton’s established reggae catalogue, Protoje’s modern roots approach, and Sarai’s songwriting to highlight these intersecting issues.
