HOW ADDIS PABLO, BOB RIDDIM & CHEZIDEK SCALE THE MUSICAL HIGH
Melodica heir Addis Pablo and Grammy and Juno-nominated producer Bob Riddim unite on Musical High. The single, featuring roots artist Chezidek and out now via Rockers International, is an ode to music’s healing power, delivered with vibes that get under your skin.
Addis carries a serious lineage. He is the son of Augustus Pablo, the Jamaican producer who brought the melodica into reggae’s soul. Addis and Bob Riddim first crossed paths on Destiny, a late-period album by the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry, and the chemistry stuck.
CHEZIDEK SINGS ABOUT MUSIC’S MYSTICAL POWER WITH A QUIET AUTHORITY
On Musical High, propulsive contemporary dub production drives the track forward, but it is Chezidek who stops you in your tracks. Famed for his herbal anthems of the early 2000s, Chezidek sings about music’s mystical, mind-opening power. His quiet authority feels genuinely earned.

Bernard Lanis adds a sinuous saxophone line that lifts the track further. Bob Riddim’s own mix and a master from Joao Carvalho give it a rich, polished sheen.
The video, directed by Jus Hugh and shot in the Jamaican countryside and at Addis’ Rockers International record shop in downtown Kingston, dropped on 1 April to a wave of online acclaim.
Musical High is the first release in Togetherness, a wider collaborative project between Addis and Bob Riddim. Roll on the next chapter.
