THE SOURCE: SUBAJAH RELEASES DEBUT FROM THIRD STUDIO ALBUM
Some music finds you. Some music calls you home. Subajah taps into both in the blazing opening single from his forthcoming third album of the same name, The Source. Fusing authentic roots reggae with the ancient kora strings of West Africa, the track opens into an organic, immersive soundscape.
The Source’s line-up is formidable. Carlaloo One Drop, drummer for The Wailers, drives the rhythm alongside Grammy-winning bassist Don Chandler. Guitarist James Shepard and keyboardist Calvin “First Eye” Bennion, former live engineer for Max Romeo, build the harmonic foundation.
A CALL ACROSS TIME, IT LINGERS LONG AFTER THE MUSIC FADES
Cyrus Richards of the London-based band Rasites adds presence, while backing vocalist Harmonie Déjà, known for her work with Luciano, lifts the vocal landscape. Master kora virtuoso Moussa Dembele crowns it all, his strings threading ancient West African soul directly into the groove.

From its opening seconds, the track resonates like a call across time. It uplifts and commands, lingering long after the music fades.
The album arrives digitally on 3 April via Dashen Records. One to watch.
