Italian reggae trailblazers Mellow Mood return with 7, a self-produced gem that captures both their evolution and essence. Marking their seventh album and twenty-plus years of shared vision, the Garzia twins and their crew offer a stripped-back, soulful experience that feels both timeless and immediate.
From the opening bars, 7 leans into analogue warmth. Gone are the layered flourishes; in their place, sparse arrangements that give each track room to breathe.
The shift is intentional. This time, the band took full control of the artistic production, experimenting with simplicity and diving deep into a more authentic, roots-driven sound.
Paolo Baldini still handles the mix, but the textures are drier, more direct—amplifying emotion rather than masking it.
