Anthony B, born Keith Blair in Clarks Town, Jamaica, started performing with church and school choirs before becoming a DJ with the local sound system, Shaggy Hi-Power. He released his first single, “The Living Is Hard” in 1993 and went on to release a string of hits, including “Repentance Time,” “Fire pon Rome,” “Rumour,” and “Raid di Barn”.

He released his first full-length album, Real Revolutionary, in 1996, followed by Universal Struggle in 1997. His success with “Nah Vote Again” was credited with helping to maintain peace during Jamaica’s national elections that year.
