LILA IKÉ & MASICKA IGNITE DANCEHALL HEAT WITH ‘ROMANTIC’
Jamaica’s fearless voice, Lila Iké, lights up the summer with her sultry single Romantic, a heady collaboration with dancehall powerhouse Masicka. This fiery release marks a bold step toward her highly anticipated debut album, Treasure Self Love, set to land on Wurl Ike Records and In.Digg.Nation Collective (via Ineffable Records).
With Romantic, Lila flips Patra’s 1994 classic Romantic Call into a vibrant celebration of feminine power. Patra herself opens and closes the track, weaving past and present into one unstoppable force. Masicka’s quick-fire verse brings undeniable energy, matching Lila’s smoky vocals and electric charisma.
British-Ghanaian producer Juls and Jamaican hitmaker Dunw3ll shape the track’s pulsating heartbeat. Their layered production glows with warmth, pulling listeners straight to the dance floor.
ROMANTIC IS MY HOMAGE TO DANCEHALL AND THE QUEENS WHO TAUGHT US TO BE BOLD AND SENSUAL
Meanwhile, Shane Creative’s video bursts with shimmering 90s nostalgia. Think metallic outfits, confident moves, and that timeless dancehall attitude.
Lila says, “Romantic is my homage to dancehall and the queens who taught us to be bold and sensual. Masicka’s verse added that fire I needed. It’s not just a throwback, it’s a whole new mood.”
As anticipation builds for Treasure Self Love, Lila Iké proves she isn’t just revisiting classics. She’s reimagining them, shaping the future of Jamaican music with fearless heart and a confident spark.
