ABOUT KING KONG
Born Dennis Anthony Thomas in Kingston, Jamaica, King Kong launched his career as Junior Kong, DJing at Tuff Gong and debuting with Pink Eye in 1982. Known for his gospel-inspired, Tenor Saw-like wail, Kong made waves on King Tubby’s Firehouse label.
He later collaborated with reggae greats like King Jammy and Black Scorpio, dropping hits like Trouble Again and Mix Up, and recording internationally through the ’90s.
