I-TAWEH’S DROPS REGGAE ODYSSEY ”MUSICALLY SPEAKING”
Jamaican roots reggae legend I-Taweh has released “Musically Speaking,” a profound testament to his musical odyssey. Born and raised among the lush hills of St. Ann, Jamaica, I-Taweh’s authentic sound is deeply rooted in his upbringing.
Growing up in Prickly Pole, just a stone’s throw from Bob Marley’s Nine Mile, he absorbed the rhythms of both farming and music, shaping his unique narrative prowess.
I-Taweh’s reputation as a legendary guitarist and bassist precedes him. He has collaborated with luminaries like Sade, Capleton, and Luciano. Now, with his fourth solo album, he embarks on a new journey that resonates with the soul of reggae.
During the early days of the pandemic, I-Taweh sought solace on his farm, dedicating four transformative years to crafting “Musically Speaking.” This opus showcases his evolution as a multifaceted artist, featuring collaborations with esteemed Jamaican musicians such as Beezy Coleman, Courtney “Bam” Deidrick, and Dean Frasier.
From the evocative blues-infused track “Long Road Home,” featuring Mermans Mosengo’s soulful voice and harmonica, to the rhythmic intricacies of “The Capital,” each song offers a window into I-Taweh’s diverse musical palette and personal journey.
As a soloist, his commitment to social justice and human rights reverberates across the globe, making “Musically Speaking” a must-listen for reggae enthusiasts and music lovers alike. If you’re into vinyl, you can grab the album at Evidence Music’s Bandcamp.

ABOUT I-TAWEH
Born in St. Ann, Jamaica, I-Taweh’s roots intertwine with reggae legends like Bob Marley. His musical journey began in Prickly Pole, where he ingeniously crafted instruments from bamboo and sardine tins.
In 1992, he made his way to Kingston, joining High Symbol as a skilled guitarist. Thriving in the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari, he played alongside luminaries like Dizzy Johnny Moore and Bongo Herman.
Later, under the mentorship of Sugar Minott, I-Taweh flourished as both a guitarist and a harmony singer.
