Etana drops new album “Nectar Of The Gods”. Reggae Tastemaker

Etana, born Shauna McKenzie in Kingston, Jamaica, is a Jamaican reggae singer. She migrated to the United States in 1992 and briefly pursued pop music before rediscovering her reggae roots.

Adopting the name Etana, meaning “The Strong One”, in Swahili, she fused folk, soul, jazz, and reggae into her unique sound. Her debut album, “The Strong One,” featured hits like “Warrior Love” and “I Am Not Afraid.”

Etana’s fourth album, “I Rise,” topped the Reggae Billboard charts, making her the first Jamaican female artist to achieve this in 17 years. In 2018, “Reggae Forever” hit number one, earning her back-to-back chart-toppers and a Grammy nomination.
