PATORANKING DROPS “HIGHER” FROM HIS FOURTH ALBUM, WORLD BEST.

Patoranking has unveiled the highly anticipated visual for “Higher,” the opening track from his fourth studio album, World Best. Sung in his native language of Yoruba, the Lagos-born artist praises Oluwa, meaning God, on this upbeat track.

The music video, directed by Chris Chuky, was filmed inside a church in London featuring stunning architecture, colourful frescoes, and stained-glass windows. Dressed in his Sunday best, Patoranking celebrates with friends and family by dancing and singing along with the lively percussion and soft synth chords provided by Mix Master Garzy.

“Higher” is just one of several singles released over the past year that will be included on World Best. Released in late 2022, the catchy “Kolo Kolo” featuring Diamond Platnumz (produced by Young Willis) has already garnered nearly 30 million views on YouTube and recently won Best East Meets West Collaboration at the 2023 East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (EAEA). “Abobi,” featuring Nigeria’s Kel P, whose credits include multiple hits on Burna Boy’s 2019 African Giant album, followed with its rich melodies.

Patoranking also dropped the party anthem “Tonight” featuring Popcaan, produced by DJ Breezy, who also produced Patoranking’s 2014 hit “My Woman, My Everything” featuring Wande Coal. The Nigeria-meets-Jamaica track has already amassed over 2.3 million views on YouTube and is climbing the charts in Nigeria’s Top 100.

Patoranking is a Nigerian musician known for his Afro dancehall and reggae hits. He has collaborated with Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Major Lazer, Buju Banton, Wande Coal, Diamond Platnumz, and Sauti Sol. His first major solo hit was “Girlie O” in 2014, and he has since released two LPs, “God Over Everything” and “Wilmer.”

He is also a judge on the reality TV show The Voice Nigeria and has created the ALU Patoranking Scholarship. In 2022, he received two awards at The Headies and headlined the Fifa World Cup official Fan Fest Stage. He will release his new “World Best” album in September 2023.
