PATORANKING STEPS UP WITH BUJU BANTON ON AFRICAN SOLDIER

Grammy-winning dancehall legend Buju Banton and Nigerian Afro-dancehall star Patoranking unite on African Soldier, a thunderous roots reggae anthem celebrating African pride, Black liberation and continental power.

The track feels profoundly Jamaican. Producer Jazzwad, known for work with Bounty Killer and Damian Marley, assembled live session musicians including drums, bass, keys, guitar and a full horn section, giving the record genuine warmth and weight. Grammy-winning engineer Bonzai handled the mix.

For Patoranking, this is a homecoming. Reggae runs through his entire career, from breakthrough single Alubarika to his recent No Jonze

“While working on my album, the goal for me was to go back to the music that inspired me, the sounds I grew up on,” he explains. “Reggae has been that core for me.”

TWO GIANTS. ONE MESSAGE.

Buju Banton’s voice has long championed Africa’s unity and liberation, making him the natural collaborator for this record.

African Soldier arrives as the second single from Patoranking’s eagerly awaited fifth studio album. With singles this strong, the album cannot come soon enough.
