NICK HEADON’S DUB KITCHEN AND RUDESIX SINGER LIV LINLEY COMBINE ON ‘ESPRESSO FOOD’ TO CREATE DUB MUSIC WITH A PUNK ATTITUDE
The Dub Kitchen’s reputation for delivering “heavy bass with hypnotic grooves…” (Dubmatix) continues with its 5th release, new single ‘Espresso Food’. The track is a collaboration with ‘RudeSix‘ singer Liv Linley, with Linley’s incredible Slits-esque vocals adding an additional melodic layer to the Dub Kitchen sound and taking it somewhere new.
The spirit of the Thatcher fuelled 1970’s punk and ska movement are captured with the lyrics delivering a scathing attack on Britain’s current political state and economic hardship. The Dub Kitchen signature of incorporating spoken word samples are once again present: “It is our duty as human beings to raise one unified voice of protest of indignation.”
