WHY TENOR BLUE WAITED 30 YEARS TO RELEASE HIS MOST HONEST LOVE SONG
Timing is everything in music. For international reggae/R&B artist Tenor Blue, that moment has finally arrived. His soulful single Your Answers drops just in time for Valentine’s Day, carrying roots that stretch back three decades.
The song tells an unusual story. Tenor Blue penned Your Answers in the early 90s, performing it across Los Angeles club circuits over the iconic Flex Riddim. He later recorded a slowed-down R&B version during his stint with RCA Records. The label shelved that recording, but the song stayed with him.
PURE, UNADORNED ROMANCE SET TO THAT UNMISTAKABLE 90s RIDDIM
Now with production from Loud City Music, he’s returned to his original vision. The track stands as he first imagined it: pure, unadorned romance set to that unmistakable 90s riddim.
Your Answers occupies that sweet spot between R&B smoothness and reggae’s rhythmic beat. Heartfelt crooning designed to melt hearts takes centre stage. Blue’s vocal performance carries the weight of experience, transforming a simple love song into something more resonant.
The best Valentine’s gift is honesty wrapped in melody and Your Answers delivers exactly that.
