POWER REWINDS AND SOUND BOY SHAKEDOWNS: YT’S ENGLAND STORY RIDES AGAIN
YT’s England Story did more than namecheck the greats; it shook up dances from Brixton to Berlin. With its history-rich lyrics, sharp delivery and a riddim built for reloads, it became both a reggae anthem and a heavyweight dubplate. Now, almost two decades later, the story deepens with the blistering England Story Riddim, a hard-hitting reinterpretation shaped for 2025 ears.
England Story VIP, voiced on the original 85 Riddim and brought back to life by producer Gordon ‘Innerheart’ Mulrain (RIP), is the centrepiece of the release. Mixed by Steve ‘Digital Carr’, the England Story Riddim balances retro grit with modern power, inviting a new wave of sounds to speak their truths.
IT TELLS PART OF MY STORY AND REFLECTS THE GREAT HISTORY WE HAVE OF REGGAE MUSIC IN THE UK
David Rodigan
The release features six cuts. Tippa Irie delivers the standout Just Stop, calling time on the violence in our streets. Carl Meeks and Blackout JA come fully armed on Murdah, a brutal sound clash killer.
Da Fuchaman’s Bongo Grass Cart targets the fakes while Junior Dangerous drops Judas, all warnings and wary glances.

YT returns with Inglan Story (Part Few)—a continuation, not a repetition. It honours where UK sound came from and who kept it alive.
As David Rodigan puts it, “It tells part of my story… and reflects back on the great history we have of reggae music, venues and sound systems in the UK.”
ABOUT YT

Mark Hull, aka YT, grew up deep in the English countryside, but his sound hits with Kingston fire. From underground blues dances in Ipswich to global stages, he’s carved out a voice that cuts through.
His sets shift gears fast: live vocals, sound system pressure, and raw vinyl flips on his One The Hard Way project. Always moving, always real.
With new albums in the works and heavyweight collabs lining up, YT stays locked on message and precise in delivery.
