French roots reggae outfit The Tighters return with Lovely Love, a stirring eight-track collection that pulses with conviction and heart. Following their 2024 release Differently, this album doubles down on the quartet’s commitment to unity and liberation.
Lovely Love showcases The Tighters’ collaborative spirit brilliantly. Each of the four vocal tracks arrives paired with its corresponding dub version, mixed and dubbed by Roberto Sánchez at Spain’s A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio.
Meanwhile, Dr Charty handled the tape mastering at France’s Bat Records Studio, infusing warm, analogue richness throughout.
LOVELY LOVE PROVES THAT CONSCIOUS REGGAE CAN STILL IGNITE SOULS
Recorded at Jah Jazz Studio with engineer Julien “Yout” Barker, Lovely Love captures raw spontaneity. As a result, the album unfolds as an emotional pilgrimage: from the contemplative Countryside through the tender title track, culminating in the radiant Worship the Sun.
Additionally, the Tighters continue to build their reputation after acclaimed 2025 collaborations with Oku Onuora and Jah Myhrakle. This album cements their place within the international reggae landscape, blending sophisticated talent with urgent, resonant messaging.
But the centrepiece arrives with Africa Will Rise. This freedom anthem features legendary Jamaican rocksteady pioneers Keith & Tex, whose 1967 classic Stop That Train remains timeless. Their unmistakable harmonies elevate the riddim to the next level.

ABOUT THE TIGHTERS
The Tighters formed in France around Swedish singer Ante, whose bluesy voice cut through the underground reggae scene. Their 2024 album Differently threads hypnotic basslines with soaring melodies, featuring collaborators like Joe Pilgrim and Jah Myhrakle.
Similarly, their single He Is Haile, featuring New York’s Jah Myhrakle, showcases a global outlook. Vocal harmonies and deep grooves define their sound, positioning them as pacesetters of European roots reggae culture.
