Sgt. Remo Traces Reggae's Latin Roots from Texas to Colombia. Reggae Tastemaker

SGT. REMO TRACES REGGAE’S LATIN ROOTS FROM TEXAS TO COLOMBIA

International reggae artist Sgt. Remo has dropped De Texas a Bogotá, a thrilling 8-track album that pulses with cross-cultural energy. Produced by P1 Records in Chía, Colombia, the project emerged from creative sessions recorded during a trip to Bogotá, timed perfectly with his headline slot at Rototom Colombia’s annual Reggae Month celebrations.

The album showcases Sgt. Remo’s expanding sonic palette. Conscious reggae forms his foundation, and he fearlessly ventures into cumbia, dancehall, afrobeats, and roots territory. The result is a diverse yet unified musical odyssey shaped by collaboration and wanderlust.

Opening track Cumbia Sabrosita bursts with Latin flavour, featuring Javier Alerta, Carolina Huertas and Ras Levy. Cumbia Galáctica with Zelen takes the cumbia vibe cosmic.

A VITAL CONNECTOR BETWEEN SCENES, CULTURES AND SOUNDS

Dancehall fire ignites on She Wine All the Time and La Número 1, both spotlighting Haffid Dancehall and Ras Levy.

Time Don’t Stop brings reflective afrobeats energy. Luchar Para Sobrevivir continues the international dialogue. Gimme the Roots, featuring Alma De León, anchors the project in classic reggae tradition. Closer Give Thanks To Jah In This Time delivers spiritual uplift through gratitude and unity.

De Texas a Bogotá confirms Sgt. Remo as a vital connector between scenes, cultures and sounds.
