Samory I’s Strength Deluxe album is here and is truly a must-listen! Not only does this deluxe version include two unreleased tracks— a beautiful rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “You Will Know” and “Clouds”— but also, each track features an exclusive dub version mixed by Tippy I Grade of Zion I Kings, further adding another magical moment to this landmark album.
Released in late 2023, Strength was one of the most celebrated reggae albums of the year and, arguably, the decade. It was the only reggae album to make it to Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of the Year, ranking at number 42.
Fans in Germany’s Riddim magazine voted it Best Album of the Year, and Winta James, the producer, was named Producer of the Year for this album. It also received prime playlisting on Bob Marley Tuff Gong Radio and Radio Nova in France.

He said, “This deluxe album is an extension of the songs me and Winta James wrote and recorded when I was in a period of depression. This album uplifted me, took me out of a very dark place, and made me aware of myself and others.”
Growing up in Kencot, a rough neighbourhood in Kingston, Jamaica, Samory I faced many adversities. He found reggae music as a form of salvation, using his voice as both an instrument and vehicle for social change in his community. The album truly reflects its title, proving that courage and love prevail above all.
