RAS-I TAKES ROOTS REGGAE TO HIGHER GROUND
Caribbean Music Awards winner Ras-I unleashes his sun-soaked single Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way). The track pulses with classic roots energy while keeping both feet firmly in the present.
This anthemic offering serves as the opening salvo from Heart of Love, his forthcoming 2026 album on Ineffable Records. Ras-I’s vision is clear and infectious. He wants reggae echoing from the mountaintops, gathering thousands in celebration.
The song fizzes with vivid Kingston imagery. Taxis and coasters park up. Dancers skank near peanut carts. Half Way Tree comes alive with riddim. “She bubble up her waistline while mi lay down pan di riddim,” he sings, capturing pure dancehall joy.
JAH CHOSEN SOLDIER DELIVERING TRUTH FROM THE GRASSROOTS
But there’s substance beneath the sunshine. Lyrics position him as “Jah chosen soldier,” delivering truth from the grassroots. He speaks directly to the youth, offering them proper tools and righteous moves.
The timing feels right for Ras-I’s ascent. He commanded attention at SXSW London 2025 Sessions in June this year. His track Somewhere Wonderful became the Jamaica Tourist Board’s official anthem. Recognition is building.
Reggae Mountain proves he’s more than hype. The production gleams. His voice carries conviction and warmth. When he chants “I cyan feel no way,” you believe him completely.
Roots reggae has found a passionate messenger.
