MYKAL ROSE, SUBATOMIC SOUND SYSTEM & HOLLIE COOK DROP CONSCIOUS GEM ‘HAPPY IS THE MAN WHO FINDS WISDOM’

Reggae superstar Mykal Rose, the original voice of Black Uhuru, steps to the future once again with Subatomic Sound System and Hollie Cook. Their single, ‘Happy is the Man Who Finds Wisdom,’ offers a meditative vibe. It’s the third single from their upcoming album, ‘Rockin’ Like A Champion.’

Mykal’s powerful yet quiet voice starts with “Mankind must live in unity today” and leads into a hypnotic mantra: “Open the door, sesame. Happy is the man who finds wisdom.

WITH ALL THE STRESS AND STRUGGLE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, PEOPLE NEED A DIFFERENT VIBE

With all the stress and struggle in the world right now, people need a different vibe to make it through,” says Rose. “This music can give them a spiritual healing.

Hollie Cook’s harmonies enhance the song’s spiritual energy. Recently inducted into the Jamaican Music Hall of Fame, Larry McDonald adds congas and shakers. Troy Shaka Simms casts a spell with saxophones, while Emch enriches the mix with melodica, guitars, organs, and more.

Subatomic’s production shines on the trance-inducing riddim, merging classic and futuristic techniques. “Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry always told us that to make great music, it had to be spiritual,” says Emch. “This song channels that vibe, blending Jamaican roots with NYC’s diverse influences.

Their dub mix, reminiscent of past projects, offers a soothing, spiritual experience. As Rose says, “I always want to do my thing different.”

This collaboration brings together distinct artists from Kingston, NYC, and London, creating a piece of universal music.
