MCANUFF FAMILY & THE LIGERIANS UNITE ON ‘STORY COMES TO BUMP’
Roots legend Winston McAnuff and The Ligerians have crafted a message that demands to be heard. Their single Story Comes to Bump brings the veteran Jamaican vocalist together with two of his children, Nadia and Kush McAnuff, and the French roots outfit for a prophetic awakening chant.
The McAnuff Family collaboration runs deeper than the partnership suggests. McAnuff’s children, Nadia and Kush, lend their voices to the recording, where three generations unite over a message that feels both ancient and desperately contemporary.
An organic roots reggae riddim drives the track forward. The song carries a stark warning: history is knocking at the door, and we must stay vigilant. McAnuff penned the lyrics while The Ligerians crafted the composition.
HISTORY IS KNOCKING AT THE DOOR AND WE MUST STAY VIGILANT
Produced by SoulNurse Records, the single heralds the arrival of Africa My Destiny, a full album dropping on 15 May 2026. Together, they’ve created a potent statement of roots consciousness.
The track shouts its intentions with uncompromising force. Story Comes to Bump delivers what conscious reggae should: a rootsy, powerful call to awareness that grabs hold and won’t let go.
This is conscious reggae with bite.

ABOUT WINSTON MCANUFF

Winston McAnuff emerged in the late 1970s as a sharp roots voice. His song Malcolm X became a reggae standard. Yet his early work stayed confined to Jamaica until 2002. French reissues sparked a remarkable second act.
McAnuff folded rock, funk and dub into his roots foundation through French collaborations. Nearly five decades on, his voice carries the weight of lived experience and restless creativity.

ABOUT THE LIGERIANS

The Ligerians formed in Tours, France, in 2010. They founded SoulNurse Records in 2012 after releasing their debut album Reasonin’. The French roots outfit became a go-to backing band for international reggae voices. Rod Anton, The Congos, Max Romeo and the late Vaughn Benjamin have all recorded with them.
Their warm analogue production and patient riddims define their sound. Recent work includes Sensability (2025), a transatlantic collaboration with Washington DC’s Christos DC.
