Marcus I and aDUBta have joined forces to deliver Heavy Manners, an electrifying roots-reggae release backed by the Black Oak Roots Allstars. The single, released through F-Spot Records, showcases the combined talents of Marcus I’s soulful songwriting and aDUBta’s production mastery.
Known for his 2023 album Sounds From The Attic, aDUBta recorded the riddim instruments with Mauricio-Joran Ceseña in his Attic Roots studio in Bavaria.

Marcus I, an acclaimed voice in the French reggae scene, travelled to Germany to add his distinctive harmonies and powerful vocals to the track. Together, they’ve created a sound that blends American soul with Jamaica’s early reggae and rocksteady rhythms.
Mixed and dubbed entirely on a vintage Tascam 388 console, Heavy Manners echoes the authentic spirit of Studio One’s 1960s sound. With this release, Marcus I, aDUBta, and the Black Oak Roots Allstars have crafted a reggae anthem ready to conquer sound systems worldwide.
ABOUT MARCUS I
Marcus I (Marc Ibarz), born in 1984 in Cantabria, is a passionate reggae musician. He went professional at 24 and spent a decade in Madrid, performing across the Iberian Peninsula.
Marcus I has worked with labels like Breadwinners, aDUBta, and Pinnacle Sound. He now leads the Dubventurers collective, composing and experimenting with reggae sounds in his studio in southern France.
