DISCOVER THE POWERFUL DEBUT ALBUM OF J WRITTEN’S ‘KALEIDOSCOPE’

A fresh voice is about to take the reggae world by storm. J Written, a talented newcomer with years of finessing his craft, finally unveils his debut album, ‘Kaleidoscope’. The title hints at the depth J Written brings with an album that’s a metaphor for life’s ever-changing beauty, even in the face of hardship.

Hailing from Kingston’s tough Payne Land and Trenchtown (areas that birthed legends like Tenor Saw), J Written’s experiences fuel his lyrics.

This is evident in the powerful music video ‘Fear To Understand’ featuring reggae heavyweight Alborosie. The song, a modern roots track with soulful guitar and sax, tackles the toxicity of ‘Babylon’ with raw honesty.

J WRITTEN DOESN’T SHY AWAY FROM REALITY, BUT INSTEAD USES HIS MUSIC AS A BRIDGE

J Written’s passion for writing shines throughout the lyrics. He portrays the struggles of the downtrodden, the fear that cripples even when seeking solace, and the undeniable power within each of us. He doesn’t shy away from reality but uses his music to bridge reggae’s roots and the present sound.

Written’s talent caught the eye of iconic producer Doctor Dread, founder of RAS Records. Working with Kareem ‘Remus’ Burrell, they crafted an album that showcases J Written’s artistry. Recorded in iconic Jamaican studios like Music Works and Tuff Gong, the rhythms perfectly complement Written’s unique style, a blend of rapping and singing.

‘Kaleidoscope’ is a diverse album that introduces a thoughtful new voice. This is just the beginning for J Written – mark his name because this star is on the rise!

Jason ‘Written’ Rasheed Wright, born in 1994, was destined for musical prowess from a young age. Growing up in Kingston, Jamaica, with his family, he faced financial instability and frequent moves.

Written couldn’t socialise much due to his parents’ fear of negative influences. Instead, he found solace in writing and reading. He wrote daily journals and personal articles, honing his skills.

Joining Bridgeport High’s debate team gave him the confidence to speak publicly. At 16, he discovered his talent for dance, forming the ACEZ Dancers, a troupe that took Kingston by storm. Writing, debate, and dance shaped his artistic journey.
