Soundmen Beware: I-Taweh & Little Lion Sound drop ‘Leggo Beast Dubplate’. Reggae Tastemaker

SOUNDMEN BEWARE: I-TAWEH & LITTLE LION SOUND DROP ‘LEGGO BEAST DUBPLATE’

The air vibrates long before the bass drops. In a darkened dancehall, selectors lean close to the decks, waiting for the first echo to hit. Then it comes, heavy, hypnotic and unmistakably I-Taweh. Leggo Beast Dubplate, released on Evidence Music and crafted with Little Lion Sound, is a masterclass in deep dub reggae, reworking his original Leggo Beast into something darker, groovier, and fiercely alive.

Dubplates have always carried mystery and power. Once the secret tools of producers like King Tubby, they were used to test mixes before vinyl pressing, evolving into prized symbols of authenticity and sound system prestige. I-Taweh’s latest release channels that heritage with authority.

THIS DUBPLATE TURNS EVERY BASSLINE INTO ITS OWN HYPNOTIC CONVERSATION

Stripped of its full vocal, Leggo Beast Dubplate becomes an experiment in space and tension. The rhythm pulses through dense basslines, with every delay and echo pulling the listener deeper. It feels intimate yet vast, crafted for moments when the crowd is locked in and the selector controls every breath in the room.

The title’s meaning, leggo beast, speaks of someone wild and untamed. That spirit runs through this mix. By merging roots energy with contemporary dub techniques, I-Taweh and Little Lion Sound deliver a track that connects reggae’s foundation to its ever-present future. It’s raw and resonant.
