SHEENA’S GOT A DUB ATTITUDE: DUBMONES REWIRE A PUNK CLASSIC
Dubmones return with Sheena Is A Rudie Now, a swaggering 7” release featuring reggae heavyweights Alpheus and Ranking Joe. Inspired by Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, the track flips the script with irresistible flair—think Ramones spirit rinsed through a dubwise filter.
Producers André Meyer and Manougazou shape a vibrant soundscape: basslines bubble, guitars skank, and vintage textures meet crisp production. This is their fourth official single, pressed on 7” vinyl and released via Hamburg label, Echo Beach.
Real Rudy Alpheus adds serious firepower with smooth, rocksteady tones, while Ranking Joe toasts with timeless charisma. The collaboration feels natural—playful, confident, and full of bounce.
THINK RAMONES SPIRIT RINSED THROUGH A DUBWISE FILTER
With a dub version on the B-side, this release dives deep into the groove, honouring tradition while moving forward. Transitions are seamless, rhythms tight, and the concept? Brilliantly executed.
Sheena Is A Rudie Now nods to punk, celebrates Jamaican roots, and lands as a bold highlight from Dubmones’ upcoming album. Turn it up, and let the genre lines blur.
