The title sparked from a cheeky moment with a student who threw out, “You’re bringing that Benergy”, and it hit.
This album echoes Basile’s past while bringing his journey vividly to life in every groove and phrase. Tracks like Mountain Road and 87 to 90 feel grounded, personal, and urgent. From his early days founding the Poughkeepsie Jazz Project to teaching the next wave of players, Basile’s fingerprints are all over the scene.

ABOUT BEN BASILE
Ben Basile (ba-sill-ee) is a globetrotting bassist whose style bridges ska, jazz, and punk with effortless fluidity. His musical journey began in 7th grade and hasn’t slowed since.
After studying jazz and business in New York, he launched a full-time career performing with acts like Pilfers, Big D and the Kids Table, and New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble.
Now based in the Hudson Valley, Basile balances touring, teaching, and composing — always chasing connection through rhythm and melody.
