Aza Lineage sparks a love revolution with ‘Chikiwawawoi’. Reggae Tastemaker

AZA LINEAGE SPARKS A LOVE REVOLUTION WITH ‘CHIKIWAWAWOI’

Aza Lineage is stepping deeper into her artistry with Chikiwawawoi, an intimate and hypnotic cut from her upcoming debut album. Released through VP Records, the King Jammy-produced track unpacks the rollercoaster of love—balancing pure joy with the weight of overwhelming emotions.

Gliding over a smooth one-drop rhythm, Aza confesses, “I try to stop loving you, but my heart won’t let me,” embodying the ups and downs of deep affection. The track’s heartbeat is its irresistible chorus, a creation born from instinct.

I TRY TO STOP LOVING YOU, BUT MY HEART WON’T LET ME

Going into this particular writing session, I wanted a one-word chorus—something original—so I created ‘Chikiwawawoi,’” she shares. “To me, the word means unconditional love between a man and a woman.”

This expressive release follows Rule the Sound and 2023’s Don’t Say You Love Me, marking another chapter in her collaboration with King Jammy. Her momentum is undeniable—she recently graced the stage at Emancipation Park for Bob Marley’s 80th birthday tribute, reinforcing her presence among reggae’s torchbearers.

Since breaking out with Sound System in 2019, Aza has built a reputation for her fearless authenticity. Whether working with OBF on Rebel Dawtaz or igniting festival crowds from Kingston to Europe, she’s proving that her voice—rooted in reggae’s foundation—is one to be reckoned with.
