ROOTS REAWAKENED: ALPHA & OMEGA’S ONLY JAH CHILDREN RISES AGAIN
Long buried but never forgotten, Alpha & Omega’s Only Jah Children EP finally sees the light of day in its original, intended glory.
Originally released in 1997 on the Dubbed on Planet Skunk compilation, the track was awkwardly edited into one single mix—without the band’s blessing. Now, thanks to a lucky discovery of the original DAT, that wrong has been righted.
This reissue, mastered by Vibronics, delivers two powerful stand-alone versions: the original’s tribal rhythm, heavyweight bass, and soaring horns return fully intact, while Mexico’s Tor.ma in Dub offers two fresh reinterpretations.
Infused with his signature psychedelic steppers energy, the remixes weave deep space textures with meditative grooves, bridging eras, cultures, and consciousness.
ALPHA & OMEGA’S DUB STILL RESONATES—DEEP, SPIRITUAL, AND POWERFULLY BRITISH
Alpha & Omega, active since the ‘80s and crucial to shaping UK dub’s future-facing sound, have always looked outward.

Their influence stretched across borders, touching artists like Tor.ma in Dub, who describes them as architects of “a whole new style… encouraging dance and meditation.”
With this release, roots culture expands once more—tradition collides with the infinite.

ABOUT ALPHA & OMEGA

Alpha & Omega—Christine Woodbridge and John Sprosen—craft a deeply spiritual, unmistakably British dub sound. Influenced by legends like Lee “Scratch” Perry and King Tubby, they’ve forged their own path. With thunderous bass lines and minimal yet powerful textures, their music blends analogue roots with digital flourishes.
Since debuting with Daniel in the Lion’s Den, they’ve released dozens of albums, worked with Jah Shaka and the Disciples, and helped shape the evolution of UK dub.
