ALEIGHCIA SCOTT DELIVERS A SOULFUL WELSH-LANGUAGE SALUTE ‘DIOLCH’

Cardiff’s Aleighcia Scott returns with Diolch, a glowing and deeply personal follow-up to her chart-topping debut in Welsh, Dod o’r Galon. Released on Recordiau Côsh Records, her latest reggae gem is both a celebration and an elegy, rooted in gratitude and memory.

Aleighcia’s connection to her Jamaican heritage pulses through the rhythm, but this time she weaves it tighter with her Welsh identity. Produced by PenDub, Diolch opens with a wistful organ line, lifted from a melody Aleighcia originally wrote to honour her late uncle.

The result is rich and warm, built on bubbling basslines, crisp snares, and Rub-a-Dub nostalgia. Horns burst gently into the mix, while muted guitar and live percussion establish a groove that feels classic and alive.

DIOLCH IS BOTH A LOVE LETTER AND A LANDMARK

This song is really special for me,” Aleighcia says. “It’s about a very loved and missed family member, and for anyone else who wants to celebrate someone like that.

Shot in the heart of Cardiff Market, the accompanying video by Prestigeous Pictures deepens the emotional pull. Diolch is both a love letter and a landmark, placing Aleighcia Scott firmly at the forefront of Welsh-Jamaican musical expression.
