PATORANKING AND POPCAAN TEAM UP ON SUMMER PARTY ANTHEM “TONIGHT”
Patoranking, the renowned Nigerian recording artist, has firmly established himself as one of our time’s most daring African voices. His latest single and video, “Tonight,” featuring Jamaican star Popcaan, solidifies his signature sound, blending good vibrations, afrobeat, and dancehall effortlessly.
The track, produced by DJ Breezy, is an upbeat summer anthem that serves as a prelude to his fourth studio album, World Best, set to release later this year.
“Tonight” has a contagious beat that moves the listener from the first bass drum’s pound. The sound and dance are reminiscent of the Galala genre, a reggae and dancehall-inspired style originating from the ghetto areas of Nigeria, among Patoranking’s favourites.
Popcaan’s contribution to the song echoes Patoranking’s call for a stress-free life, where weed and women are the ultimate prizes.
The Charlie Sarsfield-directed music video features Patoranking, Popcaan, and several women arriving at an English countryside mansion for a night to remember. The video is a testament to Patoranking’s growth as an artist, with his popularity skyrocketing since his debut in 2014.

Patoranking, an international afro dancehall and reggae artist from Nigeria, has had hits with top acts such as Tiwa Savage and Wizkid, making him an icon. His first major solo hit “Girlie O”, in 2014 led to three Best New Act awards.
Through all of his successes, he has devoted himself to giving back. In 2020, he created the ALU Patoranking Scholarship. In September 2022, he received two accolades at The Headies Awards in Atlanta for Best Dancehall Album and Record of the Year.

ABOUT POPCAAN
Jamaican dancehall singer Popcaan rose to international success in the early 2010s with hit singles like “Only Man She Want” and “Party Shot.” He transcended genres through his singles and on tracks with other artists, leading up to the release of his 2018 sophomore album, Forever.
Popcaan’s dancehall journey began in 2007 when he joined Vybz Kartel’s posse and was introduced to the Jamaican public. He became the leading artist in Kartel’s camp, Gaza, after Kartel’s imprisonment. Popcaan’s continued associations with Drake led to his signing with Drake’s OVO Sound label in late 2018.
He released the Vanquish mixtape in 2019 and the Fixtape mixtape in 2020, featuring guests like PARTYNEXTDOOR and French Montana. Popcaan’s fifth studio album, Great Is He, was released in 2023.
