The track from Sanjay’s September 2023 album “Man of My Word” takes listeners on an emotional journey through a heart-wrenching breakup, all set to an EMO dancehall beat.

The Krystia Royes-conceptualised video paints a vivid picture. We see a couple in a heated argument. The man seeks solace at a dimly lit bar, where he encounters a wise elder, played by Mikey Bennett. Their connection transcends conversation – it’s a musical and personal bond.

From the bar, our protagonist embarks on a nighttime drive guided by an inner compass. As the waves crash against the shore, he realises that home isn’t a physical place but resides within his heart. He turns back, retracing his steps.

Sanjay was born in Jamaica and moved to New York City at age three, returning to Jamaica to attend high school. He graduated from Florida International University with a psychology degree and pursued music upon his return to Jamaica.

He collaborated with reggae and dancehall elites like Vybz Kartel and Tanya Stephens, gaining international recognition for his music videos. Sanjay also appeared on the Travel Channel’s “No Reservation” with Anthony Bourdain and toured Europe in 2023, releasing his album “Man Of My Word”.

Sanjay’s blended heritage and Jamaican experiences bring a unique perspective to his music, and his creative flair, intelligence, and charisma promise an unforgettable journey for reggae lovers worldwide.

ABOUT ALAINE

Alaine isn’t your typical reggae singer. Also known as Alaine Laughton, she was born in the US and moved to Jamaica by age 3, soaking up the island’s rhythm early. By age 9, Alaine was already showcasing her acting and singing chops alongside Whoopi Goldberg in the film Clara’s Heart. But, music was her true calling. Alaine honed her songwriting in the US, even singing backup for rap heavyweights like Cam’ron and Freeway.

After a stint in investment banking, Alaine returned to Jamaica in 2004, ready to conquer reggae. With infectious hits and show-stopping performances at Reggae Sumfest, Alaine has become a Jamaican household name. Her talent doesn’t stop there – she’s penned tracks for reggae royalty like Marcia Griffiths.
