One of the most requested vocals to Mungo’s HiFi’s recent Antidote Dub LP was Solo
Banton’s unreleased A side to Pulsating Dub.
Naturally, Mungo’s have obliged, pairing both cuts on one monster of a seven-inch that will invite heavy equal needle traffic on each side. Over a liver-quivering drum-and-bass heartbeat skank, Solo gives a Raggamuffin statement of lyrically murderous intent. The rhythm track was recorded by engineering maestro Prince Fatty at his much-missed Ironworks studio space in Brighton.
A modern classic in the truest sense of the words. Miss this at your peril.
