EDM PIONEER KĒVENS SHOWS SUPPORT FOR UNDOCUMENTED MIGRANTS IN “LEGAL DREAMERS”

Kēvens uses his music to address the current dilemma faced by many so-called undocumented migrants entering the United States. His latest song, “Legal Dreamers,” expresses empathy for these individuals’ inhumane conditions and treatment.

According to Kēvens, this issue reflects the “trials and tribulations of humanity”. We’re seeing how people are belittling people because of where they are from and which political side they are from,” he said.

The self-produced “Legal Dreamers” features a unique blend of EDM, drum and bass, reggae and hip-hop. Kēvens’ love for Jamaican music began during his time in South Florida, where he was friends with Anthony and Richard Booker, younger brothers of Bob Marley. They were in a band called Le Coup for eight years.

Kēvens first experimented with combining electro-music and reggae in the late 1990s while living in Miami, where he also worked as a sound system, DJ. He collaborated with Danny Styles and Ozzy Carmona on “Legal Dreamers”.
