KELLY SHANE’S DEBUT SINGLE “AIN’T THAT LOVING YOU” FEATURING BUSY SIGNAL
Singer-songwriter Tanya Stephens‘ daughter, Kelly Shane, has released her first single, a revamped version of the soul classic “Ain’t That Loving You,” with the assistance of dancehall legend Busy Signal. Producer Tad A. Dawkins Jnr provides the steady bouncing one drop riddim, while Kelly’s effortlessly sweet delivery is complemented by Busy Signal’s raspy wordplay and ad libs.
To accompany the single release, an official video was also released, directed by Thaddeus Deluxe Studio and filmed at various locations in Jamaica. The video portrays Kelly and Busy Signal preparing for a date at a rum bar, where they showcase their undeniable on-screen and on-record chemistry.
Kelly Shane explained the personal significance of her song, “Love Like Mine,” which was inspired by Alton Ellis and the British-Jamaican music movement. The song became even more personal for her when she recorded it, as it reflected her own experiences with convincing someone to take a chance on her. Busy Signal’s verse also resonated with her. Despite her initial doubts, Kelly was grateful for Busy Signal’s collaboration and kindness throughout the video shoot.
