“Siparia to Soweto“ the album is a collaboration between the legendary Hugh Masekela and the Siparia Deltones Steel Orchestra.
This version of “The Meeting Place” is an Amapiano Remix, a modern sound from South Africa that has taken the world by storm.
“The Meeting Place”, is the lead single from the forthcoming album. The song is a creation from ace composer Carlton “Zanda” Alexander and Deltones director/arranger Akinola Sennon, featuring the late Masekela, Father of South African Jazz, and Trinidad’s King of Soca, Machel Montano.
A MODERN SOUND FROM SOUTH AFRICA THAT HAS TAKEN THE WORLD BY STORM.
The Deltones will be playing this production as their entry in the 2023 Panorama Medium Conventional Band competition.
This record is the inspiration behind Machel 40 – One Show – The Meeting Place, a night intended to connect Africa and the Caribbean, tradition and technology, the past and the future, in the heart of the present Carnival!
