ABOUT DENNIS MORRIS
Dennis Morris, a photography prodigy, earned recognition at 11 when his photo appeared in the Daily Mirror. He loved photography more than football, earning him the nickname “Mad Dennis”.
His chance encounter with a PLO demonstration led him to Fleet Street, where he sold his film to the Daily Mirror. Later, he bunked school to await Bob Marley’s soundcheck, which launched his music photography career.
Marley invited him on tour, and Dennis’s iconic shots of Marley and The Wailers appeared in magazines worldwide before he turned 17. They became friends, and the photographs in “Portraits of the King: Bob Marley by Dennis Morris” chart Marley’s rise to global superstardom.
