Marley hopes his single will inspire people to support causes close to their hearts and make a positive difference in the world. Through his music, Marley aims to spread a message of hope and unity, encouraging listeners to come together and work towards a better future.
ABOUT DAMIAN MARLEY
Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, the youngest son of Reggae icon Bob Marley, has become a prominent figure in music history. In 2006, he made history by becoming the first Reggae artist to win a GRAMMY AWARD® outside of the Reggae category for his title single “Welcome To Jamrock” in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category. The acclaimed 2005 breakthrough album of the same name also won a GRAMMY AWARD® for Best Reggae Album and was praised by the New York Times as “the best reggae song of the decade.”
Over the past few years, Marley has been captivating audiences worldwide. He first partnered with Nas and his brother Stephen Marley for the Distant Relatives project. Then he collaborated with Skrillex on the groundbreaking track “Make It Bun Dem,” which Rolling Stone called “a monster mash-up of dubstep and dancehall.” The track sold over 500,000 copies in the United States alone. Marley’s fourth studio album, Stony Hill, was released after the success of “Make It Bun Dem” and earned him his third GRAMMY AWARD® for Best Reggae Album.
Marley also discovers and develops new artists through his brothers Stephen and Julian’s Ghetto Youths International Label. Their goal is to create new and unique styles of music by applying their vast experience and musical talents. In September 2022, Marley collaborated on and produced The Kalling by Kabaka Pyramid, a 15-track project that went on to win Best Reggae Album at the 65th Annual GRAMMY AWARDS®.
