Romain Virgo joins Mellow Mood for a powerful collab on ‘Pull Up’. Reggae Tastemaker

ROMAIN VIRGO JOINS MELLOW MOOD FOR A POWERFUL COLLAB ON ‘PULL UP’

Mellow Mood kicks off their 20th-anniversary celebration with the dynamic Pull Up, featuring Jamaican sensation Romain Virgo. After three years of touring Mañana and collaborating across continents, the Italian reggae maestros are back, hinting at their upcoming seventh album set for April 2025.

Pull Up plunges listeners into an authentic reggae atmosphere. The Garzia twins deliver sharp, conscious lyrics, while Romain Virgo’s soulful vocals elevate the track.

Anchored by a commanding bass-drum groove, the song is infused with vintage Hammond and Farfisa organ melodies, giving fans a taste of the album’s analogue-inspired direction.

The accompanying video, directed by Fernando Hevia—renowned in Jamaican cinema—adds a playful narrative. It follows a young boy handing out flyers for Pull Up until he unexpectedly encounters Virgo himself, blending storytelling with reggae’s vibrant culture.

Produced by longtime collaborator Paolo Baldini and mastered by the legendary Nick Manasseh, Pull Up showcases Mellow Mood’s return to rootsy, analogue soundscapes.
